EXCLUSIVE: Channel 10 axe another show amid fears for the station

After the cancellation of The Masked Singer and The Bachelor franchise, another show won't be making a 2024 comeback.

The bad news keeps coming for Channel 10, with Yahoo Lifestyle understanding another show has been axed from the network for the 2024 schedule.

The news comes off the back of the network confirming both The Masked Singer Australia and The Bachelor would not be returning to our screens.

Yahoo Lifestyle can reveal Gladiators has also been axed after the recent reboot failed to find an audience, with a source saying: “Gladiators is the latest show to be cancelled and there will be more. The talent, crew and those involved have been told it won’t be coming back for a second season.”

Fears that Australian Survivor could be added to the list of shows that have been axed from Network Ten are growing following the shock cancellation of the other shows.

"This week the industry has been buzzing with updates that The Masked Singer Australia and The Bachelor have been cut from Network Ten due to budget issues," a TV insider tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

Osher Gunsberg, host of both the hit reality series, all but confirmed yesterday that The Bachelor wouldn't be returning to screens this year, after 11 seasons, telling 2DAY FM's Hughesy, Ed, and Erin that he hadn't cancelled his holiday to Fiji, which is scheduled for when filming usually takes place.

A Channel 10 spokesperson later said, "Network 10 will be packing away the masks and the roses this year."

Chrissie Swan and Dave Hughes confirmed to their listeners on their respective radio shows that they are no longer required for the planned upcoming series of The Masked Singer Australia, while it's veen rumoured production company Warner Bros has also shopped the format around at different networks.

"Channel Nine said no to picking it up and Channel Seven have no plans on picking up the series at this stage but may circle back with a brand new cast in two years' time," our source revealed.
